What Happens at Your First Appointment
Your first appointment is a conversation, not a hard sell. We will talk about what is bothering you, what you would like to achieve, and whether anti-wrinkle treatment (using a prescription medicine called botulinum toxin, often known as Botox®) is the right choice for you.
As a registered nurse, Emilee will assess your face both at rest and in movement — because it is the way your muscles move that creates expression lines. You will get honest advice, and if treatment is not right for you, we will simply tell you. There is never any obligation to go ahead.
Suitability Checks Before Treatment
Because anti-wrinkle injections use a prescription-only medicine, a proper medical assessment is essential. We will ask about your general health, any medications, allergies and previous treatments.
Anti-wrinkle treatment is not suitable for everyone — for example, it is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain medical conditions. Being nurse-led means your safety and suitability always come first, and we would rather turn treatment down than carry it out when it is not appropriate.
What to Expect During the Treatment
If you decide to go ahead (sometimes on the same day, sometimes at a separate appointment), the treatment itself is quick and straightforward. Using a very fine needle, small, carefully measured doses are placed into the targeted muscles. Most people describe it as a brief scratch, and the whole thing usually takes only a few minutes.
Results Timeline and What You Will Notice
Anti-wrinkle results are not instant. You will usually start to notice a softening within three to five days, with the full effect settling in after around two weeks. The aim is always natural — a refreshed, well-rested version of you, with your expressions preserved.
Results typically last around three to four months. Many clients book a review two weeks after their first treatment so we can check everything has settled nicely.
Aftercare Tips to Maximize Results
Good aftercare protects your results. In the first 24 to 48 hours, stay upright for a few hours, avoid rubbing or massaging the area, and skip strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol. Looking after your skin with a good routine and daily SPF helps too.
